  Welcome and thank you for visiting the Watertown Fire/Rescue website, we hope you find it useful and informative. WF/R is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We work a 3 shift rotation of 24 on 48 off, 10 on shift. We cover aprox. 326 square miles and 25,800 people. In 2005 the WF/R ran a total of 2,122 runs, 480 of those being fire calls in and out of the city, 1696 ambulance calls including interfacility transfers. WF/R is staffed with 24 nationally registered paramedics, 4 state certified emt-b's and 1 office support staff.
 
Mission Statement of WF/R
 
The mission statement of Watertown Fire/Rescue is to protect lives and property within the City of Watertown and surrounding communities from the effects of fire, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and both natural and man-made disasters.
 
Our mission will include,
 
1. Prevention of fire through proactive public education, inspection, investigation, and fire code enforcement.
2. Rapid response for the suppression of fire with highly trained, well equipped professional firefighters.
 
3. Provide Advanced Life Support treatment and transport of the sick and injured to area hospitals.
4. Mitigate the effects of Hazardous Material incidents on human life and the environment.
5. Efficient pre-planning and emergency services to reduce injuries and death in incidents of disaster (natural and man-made).
6. Treating the public with professionalism, respect, kindness, and courtesy.
