Name:  Jake Jorgenson

Jake grew up on a dairy farm near Waubay, South Dakota where he enjoyed helping his dad with jobs around the farm.  In 2004 he began working at Jorgenson Meat Processing in Waubay.  He graduated from Waubay High School in 2006.  After graduation, Jake joined the Waubay Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.  While a member of the department, he earned his Firefighter I and EMT certification.  It was during this volunteer experience that Jake decided he wanted to start a career in the fire service.  In 2008 Jake started the Med-Fire/Rescue Program at Lake Area Technical Institute, where he obtained his paramedic certification.  Jake was hired full time at Watertown Fire and Rescue in November of 2009.
