Watertown Fire/Rescue ran 426 fire calls in 2005, 357 in town calls and 69 out of the city limits. Watertown has 2 in town engines, 1 100 foot ladder/platform truck capable of flowing 2000 gals of water per minute, 1 out of town engine that can be used in town if needed, 2 grass fire rigs with 1 pumper support vehicle. WF/R also staffs the Watertown Airport with 2 aircraft crash vehicles. All members of WF/R are certified firefighters with the State of South Dakota. All non-management positions are also trained in ARRF.
